Soccer Chika asked:
Okay, I live in Missouri and I was with my older brother and 2 of his friends and we were playing airsoft. Well we were on a lot across the street from my house that we OWN and is private property. I live far enough out that you can have cattle, herds, flocks, etc. We weren’t doing anything in the street but running back and forth to the porch to reload our AIRSOFT guns. Then we played for about an hour and a cop showed up saying that some one reported people firing guns. And told us to move to our backyard. But we cant cuz we have chickens. Although we have played for 6 hours on end last weekend and no problems.. HE said we were firing BB’s but never even looked at the orange tips on the guns.

no, but you should stay on your own property

You’ll have to check your local laws. I know they are illegal in the city I live in, but they are fine in neighbouring cities.
It’s a pretty sad state this country is in when people are scared of and have to ban toys.
Suzanne
They are not illegal but it is also not a good idea to play in front of people that are not sure if they are real or not. If someone saw you then the called the cops cause they were concerned for their own safety. Not illegal to play in your front yard either. As long as you are being safe and not pointing the gun or shooting at things that you should not be.. your okay. Maybe they just suggested you relocate to avoid any further calls from the neighbors.

While probably not illegal to own. It might not have been very smart to point and shoot “guns” where someone who does not know they are airsoft guns can see them. The police were probably notified about people running around with guns. Airsoft does shoot BBs – plastic ones.
I am not going to take a chance, you point a “airsoft” gun at me, and I’ll point my gun at you. And mine will win.
Use common sense.
Gloria
No, they’re not illegal, but this just proves our cops aren’t so bright, sis.
